Turning the corner and approaching 2021, I'm in the throws of clearing out my closets and washing tons of laundry. No- I'm not moving, I'm moving figuratively into a New Year. Getting ready for the New Year in my household requires much preparation because we adhere to the firm belief that how you see in the year will dictate how kindly the year treats you. Here are a couple of other ways I prepare for the New Year.
My wife loves to make Christmas garlands herself. This wonderful undertaking requires a lot of materials, including a lot of glitter, she really loves everything shiny. That is why I found a company that provides bulk glitter wholesale at very attractive prices. Thanks to this, decorating the house before the new year does not make a hole in our budget.
In Philadelphia, the same clubs that I frequent 364 days out of the year are now grossly overpriced. To skirt that issue, I stay home and have people over-who all feel the same way I do. Naturally that means food-lots of it! One staple is black eyed peas, which I was raised on-I remember every year smelling my Mother cook them with a turkey neck. Apparently these eating these funny looking beans put you in the front of the line for prosperity in the New Year. While I'm not a fan of them., I choke a spoonful down. I don't believe one can have too much cash.
My Father introduced me to the concept of holding money when the ball dropped because once again-one can never have too much money. If you have money in your hand, you'll have money throughout the year. Any denomination works, however, the larger the bill maybe the more money you'll have. Considering this economy, Ill make mine a double.
Finally circling back to what I was originally doing, cleaning house. I believe that if you enter the New Year with clutter, your life will be cluttered and disorganized. In addition, opening up your house, opens up your life to experience all the prosperity that is due you and your loved ones within the New Year. Bonus points if you find the time to lay out new linens, etc. After all, we don't want to cling to any negative energy in 2021.
After the hustle and bustle of Christmas, its almost therapeutic to clear out your house and breathe once again. As many of us have off until after the New Year, taking the time to clean may also allow you to gain some hidden benefits: maybe you can find some items to donate and get a tax break! However you prepare for your New Year, let it be a safe and fun one.
